District Hosts Community and Business

Leaders for Annual ‘Principal for a Day’ Event

On February 20, 2015 Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District hosted 18 community and business leaders for the annual Principal for a Day event. The theme of this year’s event, Contribute and Thrive, focused on volunteerism and philanthropy as well as student success and achievement. Participating organizations included Sandia National Laboratory, Kaiser Permanente, Alameda County Office of Education, Livermore Police Department, Cisco Systems, Eastbay Community Foundation, The City of Livermore, and many more.  Participants began the day at one of the District’s 17 School Sites and spent the morning shadowing the site Principal. Following the morning at the School Site, guests gathered at the District Office for a buffet lunch prepared by students in the District’s Culinary Academy.

This Mission of Livermore Valley Joint unified School District is that each student will graduate with the skills needed to Contribute and Thrive in a changing world. It is through partnerships with community and business leaders that the District is able to achieve this goal and continue to provide high quality programs and services to students and families in Livermore
