LVCC leaders, chair Steve Larranaga and vice chair Sherrie Souza attended the groundbreaking ceremony on April 18 for the first phase of a new neighborhood in the Downtown District. Located at the corner of North P and Chestnut Streets, Chestnut Square, a partnership between the City of Livermore and MidPen Housing, is a planned intergenerational community providing a range of housing options. The first phase will be 72 affordable rental apartments for seniors expected to be ready mid-2019. The next two phases include 42 affordable rental apartments for families and 44 market-rate for-sale townhomes.
