SCU Lightning Complex Fire UPDATE
LIVERMORE, Calif. (8/24/2020, 10:00 a.m. — As of 10:00 a.m. today (8/24), the situation remains the same and the current fires DO NOT pose a threat within Livermore or Pleasanton City Limits. We continue to monitor the fires and communicate with CAL FIRE and Alameda County, and we will provide an update later today. CAL FIRE also issued a news release explaining that while they appreciate the public’s desire to donate food and supplies, they do not have the infrastructure to manage those donations. COOLING & CLEAN AIR CENTER: The City of Livermore and Livermore Area Recreation and Park District will open a Cooling Center today and tomorrow (Aug. 24-25) from 12-5 p.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center. It will be a place to beat the heat and get inside and away from the unhealthy air quality outdoors. Social distancing and face covering requirements will be in place at the cooling center. Capacity is limited in order to comply with Alameda County Health Orders. Bottled water will be available. Masks will be provided if needed. To monitor air quality, visit www.airnow.gov.
TESTING SITE CLOSED TODAY: The COVID-19 Regional Test Site at Alameda County Fairgrounds is closed today (8/24) due to poor air quality. Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare will continue to closely monitor local air quality and assess impacts and provide further necessary updates.
