Member Spotlight – Goodness Village
Goodness Village is a new member, and in partnership with Crosswinds Church and the City of Livermore, they’re building a village of tiny homes to house some of Livermore’s unsheltered citizens.
About Goodness Village
We exist to bring family to those in need of a home. Our vision is to create a community-based tiny home village for those who have been chronically homeless. We seek to provide a safe and affordable living space with meaningful life activity and an opportunity to earn a dignified income, so that residents are a contributing member to the greater community.
Goodness Village was founded during the 2020 Global Pandemic. CrossWinds Church, alongside the City of Livermore, envisioned an affordable and sustainable community village through our 501(c)3 public charity California corporation for unhoused local people who consider the Tri-Valley their home.
Our mission is to improve the lives of the unsheltered population in the Tri-Valley area by providing a supportive living community in partnership with local faith groups, businesses, cities, educational institutions, community members and partner service agencies. We desire to impart basic life skills, education, counseling, micro-enterprise opportunities, apprenticeships, life experience, peer support and resources to empower residents to improve the quality of their lives on every level, achieve greater self-sufficiency, and build a safe and secure life.
We exist to reconnect those who are unsheltered to self, family and community. We help the chronically homeless rediscover and discover their gifts & talents to do purposeful work. We tear down the stereotypes of homelessness. We raise awareness about the chronically homeless community among us and what we have found as their main obstacles to sustainability. We learn so that we can address these issues together. We empower communities into a lifestyle of service with our formerly homeless neighbors, and create a solution where one is necessary. Welcome Home!
