The Celebration of Cabernet Sauvignon at Concannon Vineyard
Concannon Vineyard will be hosting a month-long celebration in September in honor of International Cabernet Sauvignon Day. Established in 1883, Concannon Vineyard has a rich history and has a very important reason to celebrate its flagship varietal. Currently, an estimated 80% of California’s 88,000 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon are planted to the Concannon Clones.
This historic winery is located in Livermore, only 30 miles north of San Jose and only 45 miles east of San Francisco. Concannon Vineyard is open daily from 11:00am to 4:30pm and includes a public tasting room, private club member rooms, and a sprawling outdoor lawn and wine pavilion surrounded by vineyard views. Visit Concannon’s estate winery and enjoy a private tour or tasting or reserve one of the estate’s many event spaces for a special occasion.
Concannon Vineyard’s Celebration of Cabernet Sauvignon will kick off on Labor Day Weekend with Cabernet Fest. On Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st, enjoy special Cabernet Sauvignon offerings, food trucks, craft vendors and live music. Learn about Concannon’s history and contribution as A Founding Family of California Cabernet Sauvignon and even check out the historic Mother Vine Vineyard for yourself.
Want the chance to ride out into secluded vineyards during sunset as you sip wine surrounded by the very vines it came from? Then make sure you pick up a ticket for a Sunset Vineyard Tour. Explore Concannon’s picturesque estate vineyards at sunset during this exciting tractor and wagon experience. The tour will be led by Concannon’s very knowledgeable Viticulturist so you’ll hear first-hand how grapes are grown on Concannon’s sustainable estate. Conclude this experience with a Cabernet Sauvignon-focused wine reception with light bites in front of a beautiful Victorian House. These two tours take place at 5:30pm on Saturday, September 14th and 21st. Tickets are limited and do sell out so don’t wait to get yours.
Concannon Vineyard with wrap up their month-long celebration with a spectacular finale event, A French Affair. Don’t miss your chance to escape to France for an evening filled with French cuisine, live music and Bordeaux wine varietals under Concannon Vineyard’s picturesque Grape Arbor. No passport required! Silent auction items will be available for bidding with proceeds being donated to the ValleyCare Charitable Foundation Women In Need Fund to help fund local world-class, personalized and compassionate medical care at Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare. During the entire month of September, $1 for every 750mL bottle of Concannon Vineyard Reserve, Heritage, and Clone Cabernet Sauvignon sold on our estate will also be donated to this worthy cause.
