California Water Service Working to Insure Water Service Does Not Become Interrupted
To ease demand on the electrical grid, PG&E and SCE have been required by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) to shut off power in some of our service areas.
Many people do not consider that we rely on power to run the water system. We are working to ensure water service does not become interrupted, as we are utilizing backup power generators at our stations, monitoring water system levels, and mobilizing additional personnel – to keep your water flowing during these outages.
We are also asking customers who experience power outages to please minimize water use, in order to help prevent any temporary water service interruptions. We will continue to monitor this situation and will provide important water system updates to you as needed. If you are using your communication channels to share information about the rolling outages, please encourage people to minimize water use during this time to help prevent service interruptions and to ensure as much supply as possible for firefighters in case of emergency.
